Our Sweet Story…

Hi! My name is Kristin Zatta and we raise multigenerational Australian Labradoodles (specializing in mini). We live in Louisiana, just outside of Baton Rouge on 3.5 acres. I'm married to Francisco and we are blessed to have four combined children together: Rachel, Jace, Jacki and our new baby, Kaige. We are passionate about our faith, our family and our dogs!

How did this happen? Let me start from the beginning. Our family owns two sugar cane mills in south Louisiana (hence the name!) I grew up with cane fields in our back yard, rode four-wheelers, and was always surrounded by animals. My mom bred everything! From champion shar-pei's, chow-chows, macaws, amazon parrots, miniature horses and even guppy fish! Needless to say, breeding was in my blood.

When I started a family of my own, we owned a small non-shedding Shitzu-Maltese and a HUGE beautiful black lab named Max. He was such a smart and loving dog! Except there was one problem: BLACK HAIR EVERYWHERE! It became so hard to keep up a household with two small children while constantly having dog hair everywhere. As our dogs began to age, and with even more love in our hearts, I went on a search for a non-shedding dog...

Sugar Bear the Cajun Bernedoodle was the perfect fit for our family! I didn’t put too much thought into the doodle breed, but we loved her regardless. As our other two dogs aged and eventually passed away, we knew it was time to fill our hearts again with another pup. That's when I stumbled upon... the Australian Labradoodle! The beautiful hair, the temperament, conformation, and the ethical breeding standards are just some of the reasons why we chose to ONLY breed Australian Labradoodles!

With the support of my loving husband, and the knowledge, experience and help from my mom, we decided to create Sugar Cane Doodles to raise empowered, healthy Australian Labradoodle dogs and puppies and to help families and individuals with special needs find their perfect companion, service or emotional support dog.
