Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ’s to help guide you with your new Sugar Cane Doodle mini Australian Labradoodle puppy!
What is a multigenerational Australian Labradoodle?
They are NOT AussieDoodles! Multigenerational Australian Labradoodles come from multiple generations of carefully bred Australian Labradoodles, not just a pure-bred Poodle x Labrador mix. Cocker Spaniel (English & Spanish) were also infused early because of their temperament, soft like coats and water traits. This multigenerational mix results in more consistent non-shedding coats, allergy-friendly traits, and stable temperaments—perfect for families, therapy, and service work. The man credited to inventing this breed was from Australia, hence the name!
Are your Australian Labradoodle puppies hypoallergenic?
Yes! Our multigenerational miniature Australian Labradoodles are bred specifically for hypoallergenic coats, making them a great option for allergy-sensitive households. (Some curl factors in shedding amount too!) FUN FACT: ALL DOGS SHED! But “doodles” especially Australian Labradoodles, have human-like hair making it harder to see the shed. However, only hairless dogs are considered non-shedding.
Where are you located, and do you deliver puppies?
We’re based in Louisiana and offer personal delivery options to nearby areas and in some instances to states like Texas, Mississippi, and Florida. We also work with families nationwide to deliver by flight nanny across the U.S.
How big will my miniature Australian Labradoodle get?
Our miniature Australian Labradoodles typically weigh between 18–30 pounds and stand 14–16 inches tall at the shoulder—perfect for homes with kids or small yards. We will also begin breeding (small) Medium Australian Labradoodles approx 30-40 lbs and 1-2” taller than our mini’s.
Are your puppies suitable for emotional support or therapy work?
Yes. We carefully select and breed for intelligence, calm temperaments, and socialization, making many of our puppies excellent emotional support animals (ESAs) or candidates for therapy and service training. Our selection process also allows for these types of placements. Please inquire if you have specific needs.
Australian Labradoodle Colors explained:
In Australian Labradoodles, nose color tells you what pigment family they’re in.
Black Noses = black based colors (Black, Cream, Apricot & Red)
Brown/Liver Noses = chocolate-based colors (Chocolate, Caramel, Parchment)
Rose Noses = Lighter brown pigment often seen in caramel or lighter shades
Even if a dog looks cream or white, the nose color shows the underlying pigment genetics. Coat shade can vary, but nose color stays consistent with their genetic base.

How do I reserve a puppy?
Contact us or submit a puppy application for approval to join a waitlist or reserve an available puppy. Once approved, we ask for a waitlist or reservation deposit to hold your spot. We’ll guide you through our unique matching process to ensure your family is matched with the right puppy for your needs. These “Puppy Pick” appointments happen at 6 weeks and by appointment on waitlist. Families have time to meet available puppies, learn about temperaments and choose the puppy that best matches with their family!
How much is the waitlist, deposit and puppy?
All of our puppies at 8 weeks are priced at $2500 no matter size, gender or color. Once an application is submitted and you’re on an approved waitlist, $100 is due. After your Puppy Pick appointment, the remainder of the deposit ($400) is due to reserve your puppy. If you have joined us after all Waitlist families have chosen, then the full deposit is due upon Puppy Pick ($500). The remaining balance after deposit has been paid ($2000) is due upon Go Home day. *Occasionally we might have a puppy after 8 weeks who will then begin basic puppy training. Price will be higher than $2500 and will depend on training received.
Can I meet the puppies or their parents?
Absolutely! We welcome pre-scheduled visits or virtual meetings at age-appropriate times (6 weeks or older). Meeting the parent dogs gives you insight into your puppy’s future temperament and size as well.
