Our Australian Labradoodle Puppy Adoption Process
More breeders are moving away from having families choose puppies based on color alone. We have chosen to adopt this model of ethical breeding and placement within our Australian Labradoodle breeding program. Instead of color alone, we are focusing on temperament matching - getting to know each puppy’s personality and each family’s lifestyle to ensure the best fit. This helps to create stronger bonds, fewer challenges and happier long-term placements for both the pup and our future family.
Why our mini Australian Labradoodle
Placement Process so unique.
STEP 2 - Puppy Application
Filling out our puppy application is the best way for us to find out more information about you and what type of puppy companion you’re looking for. When guiding you in choosing the best match for your family, we refer to this application not only on temperament, but we also look at size, coat type, color and gender of your preferred mini Australian Labradoodle so that we ensure everyone is happy! Including Puppy!
STEP 1 - Research
Before deciding on a SWEET Australian Labradoodle puppy, spend some time going through all pages of our Sugar Cane Doodles site as well as the All About the Dog Blog. This section has a TON of helpful information that will answer the majority of your Australian Labradoodle questions!! We are available to answer any questions but encourage you to understand the investment we’ve made into our program as well as our process. Visit our social channels for more pictures and videos!
STEP 3 - Virtual Meet & Greet
After reviewing your application, we will set up a call to get to know you even better! We’ll go over all the details and you can ask any questions that haven’t been answered yet. Once approved you can move over to an open Waitlist, join us for puppy picks or move forward with an available Australian Labradoodle puppy.
STEP 4 - Puppy Picks
This is the fun part! PUPPY PICKS! Waitlist families will get to meet our puppies in consecutive order by appointment around 6 weeks of age. Meeting the puppies is a great way to see personalities, learn temperaments, and see their cuteness up close! Once your family has chosen a puppy, your Reservation fee of $500 is due (or Waitlist remainder balance). The reservation fee is non-refundable but can be moved to other litters if needed.
STEP 5 - Wait to meet your puppy!
This is often the most difficult part! We will ensure we go over everything in our Puppy Checklist so that you’re prepared for the arrival of your new Australian Labradoodle puppy. Go home day is usually the first weekend of their 8th birth week. This date will be posted to help ensure you can make the date. Go home day appointments will be scheduled 1.5 hours apart to allow for questions/answers, go over puppy’s go home bag and sign Health/Spay & Neuter contracts.
